Is Your Pilates safe for Pregnancy?

Is Your Pilates safe for Pregnancy?

When we are pregnant, it's really important to take good care of ourselves, emotionally and physically. Say 'no' more often, and prioritise yourself and your child. Take the pressure off yourself to be superwoman! Focus on what makes you calm, happy and well.

We know that exercise is good for pregnant women, and mindful exercise which reduces stress levels is great for your baby too. Rushing to the gym and slamming out a class then facing rush hour traffic is not ideal.

But how about a calm, centering Pilates workout online, in the comfort of your own home.

Zero travel, zero stress, and as little as 10 minutes 2-3 times a week. Sounds blissfully easy right?

Benefits of Pilates in Pregnancy

Our online Pilates workouts build strength, stability and posture and keeps your cardio fitness high without using high impact exercises or speedy movements. Your Pilates workouts will support you to stay fit and flexible through your pregnancy.

Your pregnant body constantly grows and changes and adapts. With short, regular online Pilates workouts you can stabilise your core by strengthening your stomach, back and pelvic floor muscles, preventing any back pain, avoiding incontinence issues, and prepping your amazing body for labour.

Because we teach Pilates exercises which employ specific postural principals, your natural posture will improve, helping your body carry the additional weight comfortably, and ensuring you look like a Rubenesque goddess.

Because our online Pilates workouts require your full concentration, you get to enjoy Mindful Exercise - where your mind is completely present with your body. Practicing mindful exercise clears the mind and leaves you feeling refreshed and energised. It's even been proven that mindfulness increases the levels of the calming chemical oxytocin, and this can flow through to benefit your baby.

The controlled breathing taught during our online Pilates workouts helps reduce stress, oxygenates your blood for the baby, increases stamina, raises your energy levels and improves your mood. It can even help prepare you for constructive breathing in your labour.

All Pilates Instructors in our online workouts are fully certified, so you are receiving expert guidance.
